The oboe gives the orchestra its tuning A and some of the most plaintive, prayerful solo lines in the repertoire. Oboists are rare and warmly welcomed in the Australian Christian Orchestra — your sound shapes the whole woodwind colour.
Auditioning as a oboist
Grade 7+ AMEB (or equivalent). A short video is enough. If you play cor anglais as well, tell us — it's prized.

In larger sacred works, yes. Doublers are a real asset.
