The bass voice at AChA
Basses are the foundation of the Australian Christian Choir, the harmonic floor everyone else is built on, and the source of some of the most powerful moments in sacred choral music. Strong low voices give the whole choir its grounding.
- The commitment
- Fortnightly Thursday rehearsals, 7:00–9:15 pm. Concert preparation may include extra rehearsals.

- UTS Building 5, 1 Quay Street, Haymarket.

Let's hear about you.
Start with the interest form. We welcome confident basses and baritones who can hold a line and read basic notation. If a video is requested, send a short recording of you singing. Fortnightly rehearsals at UTS Building 5, Haymarket, fees from $100/year.

- We'll explain the next step. A video audition is requested if needed ($50).
- Suitable applicants are invited to a trial rehearsal.
- After approval, complete your membership and onboarding.

Both are welcome. We place you by your comfortable low range after a trial.
How low do I need to sing?
A reliable low E–F is plenty for most repertoire; true basses are treasured.
