Our Beliefs

AChA is intentionally interdenominational. We are united by the historic Christian faith and a passion for the arts — not by secondary theological uniformity.

Our Shared Confession

The Niceno-Constantinopolitan Creed (381 AD).

Formulated at the Council of Constantinople in 381 AD, this creed is the broadest statement of Christian orthodoxy accepted across Catholic, Orthodox, Anglican, Protestant, and Pentecostal traditions alike. We present it as a point of shared confession across the historic Church.

Beyond this creed, we do not prescribe theological positions on secondary or tertiary matters. Members hold their own convictions. We celebrate that diversity.

We believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, begotten from the Father before all ages, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made; of the same essence as the Father. Through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven; he became incarnate by the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary, and was made human. He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate; he suffered and was buried. The third day he rose again, according to the Scriptures. He ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again with glory to judge the living and the dead. His kingdom will never end.

And we believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life. He proceeds from the Father. With the Father and the Son he is worshipped and glorified. He spoke through the prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church. We affirm one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look forward to the resurrection of the dead, and to life in the world to come. Amen.

A note on the Filioque: Some Western Christian traditions include the phrase "and the Son" (filioque) in their confession of the Holy Spirit. We present the Niceno-Constantinopolitan Creed in its original 381 AD form as a point of shared confession, recognising it as a common reference received across the historic Church and suitable for our ecumenical purpose.

All About Jesus

Who He is. What He has done. What He is still doing.

Crucified

1 Corinthians 1:23–24

The cross is not a tragedy to explain away — it is the power and wisdom of God. The Son of God, given for the world.

Resurrected

1 Corinthians 15:20

Death has been defeated. The resurrection is not metaphor — it is the hinge of history and the ground of all Christian hope.

Ascended

Ephesians 1:20–21

Jesus reigns. Seated at the right hand of the Father, interceding for His people, Lord of every power and authority.

Returning

Revelation 22:20

He is coming again in glory to judge the living and the dead. His kingdom will have no end. This is the horizon everything is moving toward.

Unity Without Uniformity

How we worship together across traditions.

We are intentionally interdenominational. Catholics, Pentecostals, Orthodox believers, Baptists, Anglicans, Presbyterians, and many more — rehearsing together, performing together, eating together, and learning from traditions not their own.

"Unity is not uniformity." It means holding your own convictions while making genuine room for others to hold theirs. We celebrate our differences rather than flattening them. You don't check your theology at the door — you bring it, and so does everyone else.

What unites us is the Creed. What enriches us is everything else. A Pentecostal musician learns something from a Catholic's theology of beauty. An Anglican learns something from an Orthodox musician's understanding of liturgy. The arts are a gift God gave every tradition — and when they're offered together, something extraordinary happens.

AChA is not a church and does not replace your local church. We actively encourage members to be deeply rooted in their own tradition and congregation. Read more about our community →

Character Before Talent

We treasure the fruits of the Spirit above raw talent.

We deeply value and nurture musical gifts, yet we believe it is character, in heart and in action, that ultimately shapes trust, leadership, and the way we serve one another. We would gladly welcome someone who loves to be part of AChA and asks how they can serve, over a virtuosic musician without the character to match their talent.

Involvement does not require total agreement on every detail. While we uphold the core truths of the Niceno-Constantinopolitan Creed, we make genuine room for questions, evolving perspectives, and honest difference on secondary matters. This is a space for grace, where you can bring your whole self and grow without fear of judgement.

What We Are — And What We're Not

A creative company with a Kingdom purpose

AChA operates like a professional arts organisation — with auditions, seasons, concerts, and high standards. The difference is who we're doing it for, and why.

Not a church

We are a non-profit Christian arts organisation. We don't govern spiritually, offer sacraments, or function as a congregation. Your church is your church. We're your creative community.

Grace-based, not prescriptive

We don't require complete theological agreement. We ask that members respect our mission and values — not that they match every conviction we hold on secondary matters.

The Doorway Moment

A gentle invitation, never a hard sell.

Every AChA concert holds a quiet space for spiritual response. It is not an altar call and it is never coercive. We think of it as a first door, not the whole house. Our shared approach follows four simple movements we call JIST, and the local church is always where the deeper journey continues.

Jesus

Colossians 1:15–20

We present Jesus as a real Person, not a list of facts. We start where He meets us, in the middle of ordinary life, and point to the same Christ confessed in the ancient Creeds.

Invitation

Philippians 1:6

We honour each person's starting place and offer four gentle pathways: to begin a journey with Jesus, to recommence one that has stalled, to reaffirm faith, or to ask for help finding a church.

Spirit

John 6:63

We trust the Holy Spirit to do the inward work our words cannot. We resist every form of pressure, believing the One who inspires the message will also lead each seeker in His own time.

Telos

Hebrews 10:24–25

The Doorway leads home. Those who ask are connected to a range of local churches across denominations, where the deeper work of teaching, discipleship, and belonging takes place.

Scripture

The 66 books of the Old and New Testaments.

We affirm the 66 canonical books as our common scriptural foundation, acknowledging that some traditions include additional books alongside these. We use the New Revised Standard Version Anglicised (NRSVA) for its scholarly rigour and broad interdenominational acceptance.

Our approach is to hold Scripture as authoritative while recognising that faithful Christians across history have read it differently on secondary matters. The Creed remains our shared anchor.
