The bassoon at AChA
The bassoon gives the orchestra its woody bass-line character and some genuinely beautiful solo moments. Bassoonists are scarce and warmly welcomed — Ryan founded AChA partly because gifted players of instruments like the bassoon so often have nowhere their faith and music meet.
Auditioning as a bassoonist
Grade 7+ AMEB (or equivalent). A short video is plenty. Capable bassoonists rarely wait long for a chair.
