An ecumenical community

For Uniting Church musicians and singers in Sydney looking for an ecumenical arts community.

You're welcome here

The Uniting Church tradition at AChA

The Uniting Church was itself born of ecumenism — Methodists, Presbyterians and Congregationalists coming together. That instinct toward unity-in-difference is exactly the spirit of Australian Christian Arts.

What you bring

Uniting Church members bring a lived experience of bringing traditions together, a broad and generous hymn heritage, and a heart for community that fits our mission. You already know what it means to make room for others.

We don't ask you to leave your tradition at the door — we ask you to bring it. AChA unites 20+ denominations under the Nicene Creed, and stays alongside your local church rather than replacing it.

Questions from Uniting Church musicians

Is AChA's ecumenism like the Uniting Church's?

Similar in spirit — we make room for many traditions under the Nicene Creed, without asking anyone to give up their own.

What hymn tradition do you draw on?

A broad one — Wesley and the Methodist heritage included, alongside many other streams.
