An ecumenical community
For Presbyterian musicians and singers in Sydney wanting a Reformed home for their gifts.
You're welcome here
The Presbyterian tradition at AChA
The Presbyterian and Reformed tradition brings a love of psalm-singing, theological depth, and the conviction that excellence honours God. That heritage runs deep in Sydney's Christian story, and we're glad to carry it forward.
What you bring
Presbyterian members bring strong congregational singing, a reverence for the Word, and a seriousness about doing things well, for God's glory. The metrical psalm tradition and the great Reformation hymns are part of what you carry in.
We don't ask you to leave your tradition at the door — we ask you to bring it. AChA unites 20+ denominations under the Nicene Creed, and stays alongside your local church rather than replacing it.
Questions from Presbyterian musicians
Where do you rehearse?
We rehearse at UTS Building 5 in Haymarket (we were previously hosted at Scots Church in the CBD). Musicians from many traditions gather there with us each week.
Is psalm-singing part of the repertoire?
The psalms run through much of the sacred repertoire we sing, in many settings and styles.
