Are you a skilled musician looking for a community where faith and musical excellence belong together? The Australian Christian Orchestra is now welcoming new players for the 2026 season.

What is the Australian Christian Orchestra?

The Australian Christian Orchestra is a dynamic, multi-denominational community of musicians using orchestral music to glorify God. We bring together string players, woodwind, brass, and percussion from across Sydney's Christian community to create concert and worship experiences that are both musically excellent and spiritually powerful.

Who Can Join?

We welcome players aged 18 and above with a minimum Grade 6 proficiency level, though many of our members are conservatorium-trained. You don't have to be a Christian to join — all we ask is that you respect our beliefs. Our community includes musicians from over 17 church denominations across Sydney, ranging in age from 18 to their 80s.

Rehearsal Schedule

Rehearsals are held on the first Thursday of each month from February to November, 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM in Sydney. Additional rehearsals are scheduled during busier performance periods.

What We Play

Our repertoire blends the richness of classical orchestration with the passion of contemporary worship music. From Handel's Messiah to original arrangements of modern worship songs, we perform music that glorifies God and moves audiences.
